Leeds Castle was part of the Queen of England’s dower - the settlement widowed queens received upon the death of their husbands. Quite a settlement claim. It was an exceptional site and ground and the castle itself has parts that date back 900 years. Henry VIII used to drop by on his way to and from tournaments.

In classic fashion, the Skelton's favorite part was not the exceptional tour through the castle and around the grounds. We made our way quickly to the most difficult maze we have ever seen. It was actually to the point that I had to put John on my shoulders and he could see the big rock mound in the

middle. Maggie was the first one through and she had to guide us from the top of the mountain. To exit, you climbed down through the heart of the mountain into a really cool grotto.
The last random moment from the weekend was when dad threw

on his extra tight bathing suit and decided to take a dive off the pier. Vivian, seeing her hero in distress, threw caution to the wind and came to his rescue. Here is the picture that appeared in the paper when they covered the event.
